I love technology and I'm quite proficient in using various tools- professionally and for leisure. Although it's exciting thinking about the possibilities of integrating all these tools in the classroom, nothing really can surpass the effectiveness of a dynamic and skilled teacher- no matter how archaic his/her tools or methods are. In reference to the video hyping the "digital learners", students can be as easily "engaged" with a teacher equipped simply with a chalk and board: "engagement" is contingent on how really effective and skilled that teacher is. Yes, I will incorporate and experiment with technology- and continue to imagine the possibilities if these tools were readily available in my classroom for all my students. For now, I am heavily reliant on my archaic tools of instruction - and my students are extremely engaged- guaranteed.
